Title: IE7...
Post by: Jessie on November 27, 2006, 04:58:27 PM
Is it just me or is IE7 as much of a memory hog as Firefox tends to be?

90,312K at last check.

91K isn't really that bad.  The normal footprint is around 61K - 64K.  The memory usage of a web browser as seen in Windows Task Manager is only part of the story.  As you browse web pages stuff like Flash, Shockwave and Java get loaded into memory and fall under the browser's parent process, so their memory usage is reported with the parent's usage.  Not to mention any plugins that you might have installed.

If you really want to know what your memory usage is you should try Process Explorer.  If nothing else it's brain candy for geek types.
