I liked it. It was good.
:) Spoilers below. Don't say you weren't warned.
OK- Daniel Craig is fucking badass. OMG. I would say he's the most "Bond" Bond since Sir Sean. Much rougher than poncy man Moore, much more believable as a killer than Dalton. The only other one that comes close is George Lazenby IMO.
The story was plausible, there were no goofy gadgets (kind of a drag- no Q or whatever John Cleese's character is called, no Moneypenny) just a man who does his job and is learning to do it well. The learning is key- this is the genesis of the character, not yet fully formed. Very hip. Eva Green is good, not hokey like some other Bond girls had been.
They could have done more with the weeping blood though, it was an interesting tidbit that wasn't fully exploited.
Also, I believe this is the first time James Bond ever says the word "balls" meaning testicles. I could be wrong.
BTW- the guy who sings the theme song never has to worry about the "Bond Curse" affecting his music career.

It's Chris Cornell, lead singer of Audioslave and former frontman of Soundgarden. And the song, while not the worst Bond song, ain't nothing memorable.

That's what I mean- not the worst, not the best. Kind of hard to understand some of the words.
I didn't realise he was an established musician.

Can we please get my lovely Bond thread back on track? I mean, I realise the singer guy has something to do with the movie, but LET'S FOCUS PEOPLE....

Carroll told me earlier that the best way to get good spikes is to use Elmer's Glue. But he said not to touch it after it's dry, or it'll look like dried spooge.
Yup - Elmer's Glue is what 99% of punks use on their mohawks. Plus it's water soluble, which is good.
I demand FOCUS!!!

I knew you'd like a few of those.
I really love this thread.
I can't wait for Alice to come home and tell me how gross it is.
Well there are a few questionable ones in there...
Like who?
No way. You'll hit me.
You're in KANSAS.
Who?
Ok- First off- that emo singer guy. He looks like some sort of hoodlum cholo wannabe.
Then- the last black guy. Much too pretty.
Also a terrible picture of LL, sorry to say.
Psh.
Taye Diggs is beautiful. I'll give you that.
Better than average 007 flick. Too long, with a foregone conclusion of an ending that just. won't. come. But enjoyable and a good omen for things to come.
Craig kicks all kinds of ass as Bond.

The Rock is okay. Taye Diggs is hot. Is that Johnny Depp? He's okay. Jake Gyllenhall or however you spell it is gorgeous. Heath Ledger is sometimes hot, sometimes funny looking.
That's all you get. That last black dude is weird looking.

I liked it, it was good.
Damn good film. Daniel Craig is second only to Connery. The lack of goofy gadgets, absurd plot devices, and fantastic villains all helped make this movie work. The removal of all the cliched bits of bond( all the things Austin Powers mocked ) was an amazingly effective idea. The open scene was shot beautifully, the opening credits were - by far - the best Bond has ever had; stylistic, themed, and not relying on naked woman standing about looking naked. The scene where Sebastien Foucan( inventor of Parkour; scarred black bomb maker ) slips gracefully through the opening at the top of the door while Bond comes crashing through the door set the perfect tone for the film. Eva Green is, by far, the best Bond Girl in the history of Bond. An amazing actress with an actual story and something to do other than look pretty on bond's arm. She was great to watch.
Overall, an amazing film. Saw it twice and loved it both times.
Bought the two disc DVD set today for Kate for her birthday. Thank GOD it's tomorrow, so we can watch it tomorrow night.
I AM SO EXCITED.
:gamp:
I got mine in the mail Wednesday. It held up well from the first viewing to the second. I'm very excited about the possibilities of this franchise now. It's the first time I can say that since......I was a kid and first discovered Bond films.

I'm not even sure. I never look at all the extras because they rarely ever deliver anything I want to see.
I never liked Bond before, I always thought of him as a stuck-up prick, but this movie shattered those perceptions.
Watching it now! WOOO!
I need a bigger TV. I wish I had one that could change size.
