Title: What is the worst sequel ever...
Post by: Dry then Catch on April 14, 2005, 12:18:00 PM
...and how would you have made it better?

I don't know if a sequel is bad cause its poorly made, or it was just a huge let down from the original.  The two that come to mind are Austin Power and Meet the Parents.  The RIng 2 blew chunks too.  It would have been better with more THO scenes though there were quite a few.  and if SPOILER

THE DAMN KID DIED LIKE HE WAS SUPPOSED TOO

nor did i like anal addicts 2.  it just lack the pizzaz and spark of the original.

this post is more incoherent than my normally posts.

I thought Hannibal was a horrible follow up to The Silence of the Lambs.

I'd suggest a new plot, script, cast, director, setting, studio, producer, soundtrack...

Not making it would have been better.

I am not a huge fan of the end of Grease.  I loved Hopelessly Devoted to You, though.

Do they really say in Grease "he got me so damp"  and "the chicks will cream"?

House 2.

It's not even a sequel.  Has nothing to do with House.  Except there is a house in the movie.  It totally sucked.

It's also got that short guy who was also in that horrible John Travolta movie where they go to set up a nightclub in the russian spy training town.  He's no William Katt, that's for sure.

Of North and South fame?

Oh HELL no.  These were both based on books- one by Jeff Shaara, one by Michael Shaara.  Gettysburg was based on "Killer Angels" and is an excellent movie.  Originally made by Turner for cable release, it was eventually released in the theatres.  Gods and Generals was based on the book of the same name and, while a decent movie, didn't measure up.  It didn't follow the book too closely and really focused on one character to the detriment of all others.
