i went and saw The Brian Jonestown Massacre last on Saturday in a small dirty bar in downtown Sacramento....i have to say that they put on one of the greatest shows i have ever seen.....partly because it was in a beer soaked sweaty bar that was way over packed....but mainly because they were flawless live.....not so much playing the songs....although that included...but everything about them was exactly what you want out of a rock n roll band

here is a link to their web site where you can listen to every one of their albums....all for free....all for you.....so those of you who take the time to read this have no excuse but to check them out.....it's free and only takes a few minutes to download their albums....i suggest starting with Take It From The Man!, Strung Out In Heaven and Methodrone......

and if you're lucky enough to have them stopping in your town this summer....you really should spend the $10 to go see them.....i honestly feel this tour will go down in history

I'd go just to see if Anton kicks any audience members in the head.

They still have Lollapalooza.  I remember the first one.  I'm so old.

How are those new dentures working?
Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.

What kind of music is it?

It's kind of a pseudo-60's substance abuse alt-rock vibe kind of thingy.  With an insane frontman.

I bet they didn't have 8x10 colored glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was.

It's funny to see those lyrics in print.  THat is one long song.

I still have no idea how it relates to this thread, though.

Would I like it?

Yes, I just want you to tell me.  No, I can't just go find out for myself.

Beefy

Igs, I'm not reading all that.

Gamp, I'll post some in the Dump when I get home.  You can decide for yourself.

Oh wait, no I won't.  I let a friend borrow that DVD.

It'll have to wait.

he kicked the drummer for being to stoned and fucking up the first song.....and he threatened to kill a guy in the audience who screemed "play the dandy warhols!"......he also got pissed off because one of the other guitar players set up a mic....kicking it down and hitting the girl next to me in the face

And I proceeded to tell him the story of the Alice's Restaurant Massacre,
with full orchestration and five part harmony and stuff like that and all
the phenome... - and he stopped me right there and said, "Kid, did you ever
go to court?"

I give up. I'll just go back and delete everything.

forty-five minutes and nobody understood a word that he said, but we had
fun filling out the forms and playing with the pencils on the bench there,
and I filled out the massacre with the four part harmony, and wrote it
down there, just like it was, and everything was fine and I put down the
pencil, and I turned over the piece of paper, and there, there on the
other side, in the middle of the other side, away from everything else on
the other side, in parentheses, capital letters, quotated, read the
following words:

("KID, HAVE YOU REHABILITATED YOURSELF?")

And that's what it is , the Alice's Restaurant Anti-Massacre Movement, and
all you got to do to join is sing it the next time it come's around on the
guitar.

With feeling.  So we'll wait for it to come around on the guitar, here and
sing it when it does.  Here it comes.

You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant
You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant
Walk right in it's around the back
Just a half a mile from the railroad track

Good to hear he's still insane.  More incentive to get me to go to the Houston show.
