Title: Stuff that has little to do with Ernest Hemingway
Post by: ignom on August 16, 2005, 03:03:51 PM
I was doing a google search for the first line of my favorite short story, and I found the whole story. Thought I'd share it.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
Since I was born.
And now it's all right. it's ok.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The new york times' effect on man.

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.

Back in the late 80s there was a band called Living in a Box who had a song Living in a Box off the album Living in a Box.  I don't know why that struck me as funny and it has very little to do with anything, but I didn't reach my kilobyte wasting quota yesterday.

ACTUALLY, it has a lot to do with the Big Country thing.  Big Country released a limited LP that had the song In a Big Country and was titled, you guessed it, Big Country.  Now if they'd only toured an actual BIG country and called the the tour "Big Country tours a BIG COUNTRY", then I'd have felt complete with the overwhelming sense of redundancy department of redundancy.

Yes.  That's what made me think of the Living in a Box thing.  But it still has very little to do with the story ignom was posting about.  :)

Since you just jacked your own thread, you know what else has little to do with Ernest Hemingway?  I don't, but I'm sure that there is quite a bit.

See?  Changing the name of the thread would be a good thing!  I bet chick-fil-a has little to do with Ernest Hemingway.  I bet the Hemi engine also has little to do with Ernest Hemingway.

Scrubs just did a thing like the old Eddie Murphy SNL skit where he pretends he's white.

Scrubs was on tonight?  What channel and what time?  Maybe it'll be there next week.  I haven't seen any episode airing for a couple months and I'm jonesing for the new season.  I so love that show.

It's on right now (for a few minutes more).  NBC?  But it's a repeat.  But I've never seen this episode, so it's all new to me.

Um, yeah.  What eo said.

I think we're in the same zone (CST) because the crapfest known as ER just came on NBC.

I'm in the far superior Eastern time zone.  But ER just came on here as well.

I need special pills for that scrolling.  But the upside is I'm good for like 36 hours after that!!  Note to self:avoid the 4 hour boner!!
