I really like that first one.

I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

Ooh, kitty!

Nice work on the tiger.  I had to look up Franz Marc.  He certainly wasn't afraid of color.  Neat stuff.

Thanks, you're all very sweet. I think the first one is going to be a gift for someone's birthday (for good or bad)

I'm impressed!

Thanks, this painting was a huge step forward for me in discovering/developing further several new techniques. I have started getting aggressive with my blending by using a stiff brush, wetting it down and forcing it into the paper. I am pleased with the results. I also worked on using some of the more specialty brushes to produce cleaner lines, which in some cases I think worked really well. I am going to go back and give the background area a more geometric feel just because I can.

I think Franz Marc may be as abstract as I want to take it, though, because I don't think I am good enough to really do it with any feeling or competency. I've been on a really huge Andrew Wyeth kick lately and he's just been a huge influence in my sketching. I'd rather maybe dabble in some cubism but primarily work on attaining a comfortable level of control before traipsing off into the world of abstractness.

Thanks! I have been feeling kinda' weird about making it someone's gift because I don't want her to have to pretend to like it, but I have gotten enough decent feedback on it that I think she'll like it.
