Anyone else watching?

I find it amusing, if a little (okay, a LOT) too heavy-handed with the social commentary.

However, the stuff in the second ep (the R Kelly ep) was straight-on true.

ignom

I saw part of the R Kelly episode. I either changed the channel or turned the TV off.
Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.

I want to see that, but I always miss it.  I like the comic.

Alice

I haven't seen it.

I liked R. Kelley on South Park last night though.

Jessie

I heard a story about in on NPR.  They said it was awful.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

The thing about making a TV show from a comic is that you have all these old stories you can run with, and that's what the first two episodes were.  Also, the voice talent they use for Huey (the kid with the afro) is pretty bad.  They could've gotten a ton of big-name stars, and they go with someone who sounds like a little girl?  At least Nancy Cartwright makes Bart Simpson sound like a boy.

Also, they overuse the n-word WAY too much.  Kind of just doing it because they can, y'know?

The show is kinda amusing, as long as you can disconnect from the social commentary stuff and just laugh at the situations.  I don't want to have it too loud, though, because I don't want neighbors who don't know it's a 'toon to get the wrong impression of me. ;D

Jessie

I watched this last night.  It made me laugh out loud more than once.

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

Last night's (the one with the reality shows) was probably the weakest of all the ones I've seen.  Huey's White Shadow was probably the most interesting part; the whole Riley/Granddad angle was weak.

Yeah...the White Shadow was the only redeeming part.

I loved the Christmas one, though.

Yeah, that was a good one.

Jessie

The one I saw was about granddad falling for a hooker.
