I'm going to buy myself a 2" thick steak and enjoy it while watching the game.
Are you going to cook it or just gnaw on the raw meat while the blood runs down your chin? 'Cause if it's the latter, I bet Mrs. Dun will be SO TURNED ON!
Soy steak.
Tofurkey!
You should get a tofster tail to go with it.
i've got no plans for the superbowl, but that kinda shit changes quick around here.

i had to shampoo and deworm the carpets 5 times to get rid of everything he left down there.
I'm going to a SB party where they are serving SLOPPY JOES. I luuuuuuv me some sloppy joes.
I'm going to a Super Bowl Party with tons and tons of food and drink. We're gonna party like it's 1985.
I hope to be off work before it starts.
I didn't know that until I saw this thread.
That probably means I won't be able to get more chips and salsa at the grocery. :P
I'm not going to a superbowl party, but Grumpus said he's going to make chicken burritos so I've got that going for me.
EDIT: that reminds me. I was at the Shop 'N Go last night and they had "Tamale Pollo Salvedorians" at the cash register. I asked the guy what made them Salvadorian and how they were different than Mexican or any other Latin American tamale. He said, "Well, Mexican tamales are really good and tasty. Salvadorian tamales are generally less ... um ... good and tasty. And these, they're really bad, but this really nice lady makes them." It cracked me up.
Tamalaes are gross.
I'm so excited. I want it to be tomorrow night already!

Hoo-Rah Bears. ;)
I'm going to cheer for the Colts because they're geographically closer to me. And I think Timothy likes them.
That's who's playing right?
Yes, it is the Colts. I'm rooting for them too because they were the team to beat when I rooted for the Titans. And if the Colts win, then it somehow makes the Titans a better team. Somehow. I'm not sure how that logic works, but I'm still rooting for the Colts.
I don't care who wins, I just want a good game.
Assuming I get to see any of it.
I have nothing but faith in my boys. We want it more than the Colts - that I can assure you.
I love Superbowl Sunday!! It's like Christmas but without all that irritating family time.
I'm making Rotel Cheese Dip. Life is good.
I am baking a cake. Wife is making lasagna. We will have queso from Qdoba.
I have Boylan's Grape Soda in glass bottles. Life is good.
Anyone watching the pregame?
I was for a while but got bored. Is there anything good on?
I'm at work, enjoying a Diet 7-Up, listening to astronauts wrap up an EVA, and about to start on a spreadsheet.
It is standard stuff. Stevie Nicks was on, and she was looking pretty good.
The NFL Network is replying the Chicago/Saints playoff game.
I'll be at work from 6-11:30.
I agree with Beefy- I don't really care who wins and I won't be seeing any of it.
Somebody take halftime for me.

one of those fruit hats and a replica of the sun.

Why did they all boo that Muhammad guy on the Bears?

have we tackled the racism in sports topic so much in movies that we now have to have a swimming based racism in sports movie?

That steak looks fantastic.
I just had a super bowl of honeycomb.
I'm waiting for the racism in badminton movie.
I pour a little water in the pan after the steak is finished and scrape up all the spices and steak bits and use it as au jus.
I'm all about the au jus.
Damn I want a steak now.
By the way, speaking as one of the resident comic nerds, Ghost Rider looks positively awful. And not because it doesn't match up with comics continuity, but because it just looks bad.
When you're 12 a guy in leather with a flaming skull for a head is really cool. When you're 30, not so much.
I still have to go see it.
I wonder how much The Chemical Brothers get every time the NFL use their tunes. It's probably a huge revenue source for them.
Amusingly, that song is vehemently anti-Bush.
Timothy can't wait to see Ghost Rider.
I wish I could go back in time and sneak over to BigDun's house and steal that steak instead of eating the chicken enchilada I just ate.
The Coke commercial was good.
Yeah, I liked that, too.
Timothy liked the dog.

The Colts aren't going down without a fight. Excellent.

I would just like to offer my gratitude to the football gods that John Madden is in no way involved with commentating on this game.
That's a lot of pyro.
And a lot of rain.
Is the guitar live or memorex?
He's kicking ass on guitar! And the marching band is a really nice touch.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's live guitar. Who was that singing with him?
Or not. He wasn't just playing one part. What a let down.

TRON COMMERCIAL
Remember when the studios used to use the Super Bowl to premiere TV commercials for their big summer blockbusters?
Yeah, I miss those days. What have we seen so far?
Norbit
Ghost Rider
Wild Hogs (which has a much funnier theatrical trailer)
Where's Spidey? Shrek? Captain Jack? Transformers? The FF?
Colts have shown some impressively fancy footwork tonight.
The Tyrannosaurus was funny.
So far, Coke has had the best commercial campaign.

Kinda anticlimactic after such an exciting first half.
Come take your medicine Alice.
So that's what opening up a can of whoopass looks like. I thought for sure that the kickoff return at the beginning of the game would set the pace, but it appears that Grossman forgot what color his jersey was.
Commercials were so so but the Snickers commercial was fantastically funny.
The game was good from a competitive standpoint though it lacked any real tension in the 4th quarter and felt anti-climactic to me. I was happy to see Peyton win one even though I really like the Bears a lot.
Grossman looked downright awful at times. Those wounded ducks he was chucking were just terrible and so easy to pick off. He's lucky in the sense that he had at least 2 other really bad passes that didn't get picked by Indy.
I know he'll get much of the blame but let's be honest, if the other team controls the clock for 2/3's of the game, you can't blame everything on the quarterback. That vaunted Bears defense only showed its teeth a few times, mostly in the form of an Urlacher tackle at or behind the line of scrimmage.
I was discussing with a friend how much Bob Sanders meant to the Colts because when he played, they were lights out and when he didn't, their defense was among the worst in the league. That led me to wonder what would have become of the Bears' defense had Mike Brown (pro-bowl free safey) and Tommie Harris (pro-bowl defensive tackle) not been injured for the season all the way back in October. Could they have made as much of a difference as Bob Sanders did for Indy, and if so, how much would that have made this game different?
PS. I thought the MVP of the game should have been shared by the two Indy running backs. They each had over 75 yards rushing(Rhodes with 113), Addai had 10 catches, and combined they had 40 carries for 190 yards against a good run defense.
Take your shots.
I still think we would have had a chance had Benson not gotten injured right away. :( My poor Cedric.

Grossman needs to settle down. I think he got rushed and made some mistakes.
I'm really, really excited about next year. I think Grossman will be better and the Saints will be better and I want a rematch so bad.

The Bears had a good run and while today hurts, I'm sure you'll find at least a little satisfaction in the successes of this season. Plus, Grossman can only get better with experience and that can't hurt.
Tough day Big Al. Now you're just like the rest of us other 31 teams waiting till next year.

I don't blame Grossman for the loss. He certainy didn't help, but the defense looked horrible. I don't know if it was the game plan or the players or both, but it looked like they kept everyone (including linebackers) back in coverage to prevent the big play, and meanwhile got killed on running plays and short passes underneath. At some point, you HAVE to trust your cornerbacks and let your linebackers back the line.
Of course, that was my take on it which was increasingy affected by alcohol as the night wore on.
Last night my friend's dad kept pronouncing Cedric Benson's name incorrectly and I about punched him 5 times. He kept saying "Seed-rick" instead of "Said-rick"... dunno why it was irritating me so damned much, but good lord I was about to yell at him to shut up. I bet him not knowing how to pronounce his name is why we lost. Yeah, that's the ticket.
