I made fried chicken one time- used bacon grease instead of lard or shortening.
OMG. So good.
Luckily, I had the foresight to do it outside- it would have stunk up my kitchen.

When I was little, my best friend's mom used to make really thin pancakes fried in bacon grease and then drizzled with chocolate syrup.

It really really was.
It took me about 25 of my 27 years to realize lower quality meat is usually injected with saline for size.
