I saw that at Best Buy.  No way I was going to be the fool everyone was laughing at.  At least not that time.

You should try it - pick "Iron Man" it's a very easy one to start out with.

Or if I find $70 in the parking lot, I'll buy it & you can come over and play!

Cool!  I'm good at video games.

I would either totally own at that game, or be completely hopeless because the controls would be nothing like actually playing a guitar.  I think I'll stick to just playing real ones.

I don't know how to play real ones & wish I did - I'll have to live vicariously through this.

Since I know chords and whatnot, but really suck at playing guitar, I wonder if it would help or hinder me with this game.

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And played it for 4 hours last night.  I haggled & traded in some old stuff... so I got it for almost 50% off.  :D

Let me know when you get bored with it and it starts collecting dust and I might buy it off of you.

"He heard one guitar, just blew him away
He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day
Bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store
Didnt know how to play it, but he knew for sure"

I played Guitar Hero for the first time this weekend.  WOW!!

Today I bought the 80's Edition of the game and a guitar controller.  Soooooo fun.  My fingers are already cramped from playing so much.  It's a good thing it's my left hand but that's another story.

Your hands are going to be cramped for the first few days.  Then you totally won't notice anymore.  And ignore the seering pain in your wrist that'll come around the 2nd or 3rd day.  That goes away too.

I love GH.

Seering pain???....not sounding too exciting at the moment.

Hahaha... it's not really.  My wrists hurt a little bit after a few days.  Not carpal tunnel hurting, but just using muscles I don't normally use.

I'm thinking about picking up the 80's edition, too. What I would really like is the ability to use the Guitar Hero II guitar for PS2 on the PS3. The current adapter sucks. I don't really think my wife would be happy with me jamming the PS2 somewhere into the overcrowded entertainment center.

Does the PS3 have a different controller input than the PS2?  If so, I'd just stick the PS2 in the entertainment center anyway and jam away!!

Yeah, it's wireless bluetooth and there's no slot on the machine to plug a PS2 controller in. One company makes an adapter, but I tried it and it sucks.

LaGrange wouild be very fun to play, especially at the beginning of the song.

Where did LaGrange come from?  That's a town outside of Louisville, and the home of the LaGrange state prison.

ZZ Top has a lot of Texas roots and there is a town called LaGrange(the song title) between Houston and San Antonio.

Rumour spreadin a-round in that texas town
bout that shack outside la grange
And you know what Im talkin about.
Just let me know if you wanna go
To that home out on the range.

i just played guitar hero for the first time tonight. i am totally addicted. which is sad, really, as i don't own a playstation and i'm not even sure that my television would work with one. i have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to to deal with the dvd player as it is.

it's just as well. i'd have to quit my job.

this is the only video game i have ever been good at.

There's a 'store' in the mall here that has Wiis and GH and computers that are free for kids to come in and use.  It's kind of cool.

It was amazing! The job is pretty much everything I wanted and then some. I would be managing a team of 6-8 software engineers on data conversion projects. A mix of managing, administration and getting into the code. A very, very nice offer. I'm planning on calling him tomorrow and accepting it. I just wanted to talk it over with my wife first.

HA!

I just got off the phone with my best friend.  He said he was calling because I'd get a kick out of something - and had me guess what game he was playing.  Of course I said, "Guitar Hero".  Which he'd played the time before last that he was home and didn't care for.  Now he's been playing all day and is addicted.  Ha ha.
