i'd like to help you out. this thread was moved from movies (which i put it in on accident) to music. Relient K is the name of the band, MMHMM is the name of the album. I am a teapot.

See, you were doing so well and making sense and then *poof* you're batshit insane again.

cnamon

Let's look on the bright side...

This is eo's fault and we can blame him for it.

We should also blame the war, my bad ankle, and Rosanne on him.

I think maybe he caught it from me.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

Dry then Catch

watch out Relient K is cleverly disguised Jesus Rock, much like that Switchfoot

Those songs in the dump are still pretty good, though.

I used to be big into Jesus rock.  Started listening to Switchfoot back in HS, I think.  I was cracking up when my athiest friends were listening to them on the radio.

Bennyhana

I think that the problem I have with Jesus Rock is that very little of it (that I've heard) can actually stand on its own as enjoyable music.  So, I think that any Jesus Rock that you think is good without realizing it's Jesus Rock is good.  I don't have to agree with every song writer, and I don't necessarily have to be so scared of Christians that I avoid music JUST because it's Christian.

Dry then Catch

i still am into said "Jesus rock" somewhat....

the thing is if you compare my "secular" favorite bands and play them with my Christian bands you will think its like the same CD.  that is how lame my taste in music is.

The best being on the Guster webpage FAQ when repeatedly asked if they are a Christian band:

"Look at Ryan's side profile"

i've known waaay too many open minded leftist types who (after discovering that they had Christian CDs) they once loved, suddenly throw the discs away when given knowledge of that fact.

it's a catchy cd. especially the songs i put in the dump. just because it's "christian rock" doesn't mean it's not catchy .

Jessie

I'll listen to gospel type music if it's good.

I love some of Ricky Skaggs' gospel stuff, though I know that's not 'Jesus Rock'.

It's still good music despite the message in it.

As long as none of you are listening to DC Talk, we're fine.

One of my all time favorite bands is a Jesus Rock band.

Bennyhana

I wonder what kind of music Jesus would listen to if he were alive today.  I'd like to think it wouldn't be Jesus rock.  How much can you listen to music written about yourself, anyway?

"Yes, I know you could sing of my love forever....just don't, please."

the thing about DC Talk is like one CD they are rap, the next they are a boy band, the next they are 90s alt rock, and them mainstream slightly folky rock,  though I sort of do really like the last CD.

who is it alice?

I'd like to think he'd listen to Dr. Dre and have a closet obsession with Kelly Clarkson.
