I just watched this for the first time.

I was really impressed. I thought it was a very good movie. And it had lots of boobies.

That was one of Farah Faucett's first big screen roles.

The final scene was shot in Dallas (Los Colinas).

I loved that move at one time.

Great concept film but the production values don't hold up well.  Hell, I saw it in the late 80's for the first time and the production values didn't hold up even then.  I'm suspicious about a remake but knew it was invevitable because it's a great story to tell.  I kind of thought that movie the island was going to be the remake but it took some different turns altogether.
