I always watch the auditions.

My wife is watching and I can hear it from the room I'm in. Does that count?

This guy is an ass.

But I suppose most people would seem like asses if they told 100% of the truth all the time.

Why is the title of the thread American Idol? That clearly is not what you're talking about.

I also thought it was really precious how she decided that she didn't really need to listen to anything the judges told her or any advice they gave.  What'd she say last week?  Something about filling a dive bar in Jersey or something?  And now that I'm typing this, it occurs to me that we should make this small so, on the off chance that it's a spoiler for someone, it doesn't spoil it for someone.  Who that someone is, I have no idea.

And, of course, I screwed that up.  Twice.  :)

Well, at least you tried...

I keep telling Timothy she reminds me of a female Elvis when she performs, and not in a good way.  And her voice is just annoying.  Every once in a while in a good rock song she sounds ok, but mostly she sounds nasally and fails to enunciate.  Very annoying, that one.  The little mousy blonde chick is sure to be next to go.  Then the asian girl, maybe, if she doesn't do something that isn't painfully dull.

i like annie lennox....she did a nice version on "i don't want to wait in vain" ...wanted to see her live here, $70 to $100 a ticket..that sucked. don't care much for her newer music.

I agree.  Annie Lennox is totally amazing.  We watched the first 10 minutes of the show, declared it a boring telethon, fast forwarded to Annie Lennox, watched her clip and song, fastforwarded to Jimmy Kimmel and then put on something else.

This was the only American Idol that my wife hasn't watched live. She'll put it on tomorrow when she's working for background noise. I'm sure her ears will perk up if any outstanding performances occur.

Yeah, it was boring in some parts, sad in others, and Annie Lennox is the only performance that stands out to me.

Well, that and Miley Cyrus.  I can't help but like her.  She's cute as can be, and really is a good entertainer.  I find myself hoping for good things for her.

I don't know what really happened, because her save was to say that she was reading David Cook's notes, but then she turned around and gave him good reviews for both his songs just didn't make any sense.

I figure there are two probabilities.  (1) she's insane or (2) she's insane and someone else has scripted her comments for her, but she's too insane to be able to read them correctly.

That's what I was thinking, too.  I've read some theories that they actually judged based on some dress rehearsal or something.  I don't know.

Even if it was a scripting mishap, she still acted drunk/high/retarded.

He has a great voice, but crap for personality.
