Title: Whoever designed Office 2007 should be shot.
Post by: Jessie on February 17, 2009, 02:02:18 PM
I hate it.  Hate it hate it hate it.

I hate the trend of MS to make everything giant and cartoony and not simple and normal.

There is a way around it.  Look at the help database, and search for a way to change the toolbars to look like 2003.  I have done it.

Everything I've found says you have to buy a patch or something.

You get used to it, and once you do you realize the ribbons make more sense. I hated it at first too but now ... oh something shiny!

I have a new font of my handwriting.  It looks like crap in Word but converts to pdf really nicely.

Is there a large cash incentive to fulfill your wish? I could probably look them up and pay them a visit.

I hate it, but it's probably because we're changing a TON of stuff right now and this is just one more thing to adjust to.

I've been using it for a while, so I'm over all of my gripes. What I find helpful is the context menu that pops up when you do stuff.

"you sure you don't want to use a condom?"

"you sure you don't want to use a condom?", stammered Erik with sweat beading down his brow.

Grinning, I slowly poured my brandy into the crystalline goblet.  "It doesn't quite work that way, my friend", I exclaimed while gently caressing the arch of his hairy foot.

Turns out that we're going to have to revert to 03, because MS removed the ability to export Access reports into Excel, which is crucial for what we do.

What the hell.  Stupid Microsoft.

I mean, I'm fine with going back to what I know, but that seems pretty stupid.

Also, apparently if you install Office 2007 and you already have Visio installed, it will eat your computer's brains.

lolol docx. Nobody uses that junk anyway. You always have to save as Office 2K3 if you want anyone to be able to use your junk.

There's an add-in for Word 2003 that will let it open .docx files.

I'm at MS today. Are you sure you don't want me to shoot someone?

I sometimes ask my MS classes what is the compelling reason to upgrade to Vista. Everyone always says that the XBox360 integration is reason. They don't seem to have a fall back reason when I tell them I don't have an Xbox360.

What he really meant to say was, "we had an okay product over 10 years ago, but we have to keep selling new versions to make more money."

My laptop runs Vista Home Premium and it annoys the crap out of me every time my kids turn on the Xbox and the stupid media extender notification pops up and distracts me.

I kind of like Vista now that the service pack is out. I don't know why it needs to continue to eat up my hard drive for no good reason, though.

This man speaks the truth. If the upgrade from 2003 to 2007 were actually necessary then wouldn't more people have done it?
