You know, I think that if there was a person you didn't like, and you handed them Wasabi Peas and a Vernor's ginger ale, and told them to inhale the smell of Vernor's through their nose and then take a bite of the Wasabi Peas and then exhale through their nose, you could kill them and totally get away with it.

Why the eff is the new Stephen King paperback bigger (i.e. taller) than normal paperbacks?  Is this an ego thing or is the standard changing across the board?

I think they're supposed to be easier to hold - at the airport book stores they have them grouped together like they're something special.

When I bought one of those bigger ones recently, the dude at the store had a different term for it.  I think "Mass Market Paperbacks" was the term for the regular ones, but there was another term for the big ones.  It seems that they're an intermediate step between hardcover and regular paperback.

Sure you may think the big book will have a better feel, but when it comes down to it, it's just big and hard to handle.  The little books know how to drive you wild ... they have to learn this stuff because nobody goes for the little book!  Trust me, I know.

Aw, hatt.  You sweet little book.   :-*
