I dunno.

Silence of the Lambs is a classic.  Hannibal, both book and film, were kind of a glorious trainwreck, stumbling and failing to build on what preceded it but still so far over the top full of itself that I couldn't not finish them.

I didn't bother to watch Red Dragon, as it already existed in the form of Manhunter, which I own and enjoy a great deal.

Now it just feels like they're milking it far too much, and now matter what good is involved in the telling of the book or film it's still one too many trips to the same well.  Much like Clerks 2 was.

Thoughts?

I liked Clerks 2.

Clerks 2 was only funny for the shock value and nothing more.  It lacked so much of the freshness and originality that the first one had.

I think when people care more about the money of a sequel than they do about their stories & characters - it really shows and the sequels are always lacking.

(i.e. the Star Wars prequels)
