Title: Stefan Rudnicki reads Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes"
Post by: Bishamonten on April 12, 2007, 11:08:31 AM
a-fucking-mazing.

Rudnicki has been my favorite reader ever since I heard him read Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game and he doesn't disappoint here.

Jesse, if you go looking for an son-friendly audiobook again, try to find this one.

Thanks.  I'll keep that in mind.

He has narrated some interesting works: http://www.audible.com/adbl/site/enSearch/searchResults.jsp?N=0&Ntk=S_Narrator&Ntt=Rudnicki&D=Rudnicki&Dx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial%7Cmode%2Bmatchallpartial&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial%7Cmode%2Bmatchallpartial&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&S_Keywords=&P_Title=&P_Author=&P_Narrator=Rudnicki&Provider=&category=all&programType=all&programFormat=all&price=all&release=all&runningTime=all&x=36&y=4

Is there a netflicks equivalent for audio books besides going to my local library and getting on their zillion week long wait list?

Yes, it is called Audible.com

My wife and I have a subscription that allows for two downloaded books per month. I have a 30 minute (each way) commute to work and have recently listened to:

You Suck (Unabridged)
Truman (Unabridged)
The Traveler (Unabridged)
The Great Influenza (Unabridged)
Middlesex (Unabridged) (not recommended)
Life of Pi (Unabridged) (meh, it started well but the ending wasn't as strong)
Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norell (Unabridged)
Everything is Illuminated (Unabridged)
Deep Storm (Unabridged) (not recommended)
Assassination Vacation (Unabridged)
A Dirty Job (Unabridged)
and the entire Dark Tower series (Unabridged)

I am currently listening to a full cast reading of World War V (Abridged)

Best investment ever.

So how does it work, you download it and make a copy on disc or iPod or some other format?  Sounds cool by the way.

Nevermind, I read about it.  CD, iPod and other are all options.  Very cool.
