Long stream of profanities

I am so fucking frustrated right now.

I just got Timothy's computer out, installed XP, installed a DVD player, ran windows update.  I had it out here in the living room, hooked up with my monitor, mouse and keyboard.  Everything worked fine.

I took it in his room, hooked it all up with his mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc, and it beeped three times and shut the monitor off.

I brought his monitor out here.  I'm using it now.  It works fine.

I took all my stuff in his room and set it up exactly as it was in here.  It beeps three times and shuts off the monitor.

I unplugged the DVD player, thinking maybe something was wrong there.  Nothing.

WTF?  Seriously.

Is it all plugged into a power strip?  Maybe there's something wrong with that....

Nope.  Plugged directly into the wall.  I had this same problem with his OTHER computer, or similar.  I am ready to cry I'm so frustrated with it right now.

Maybe I'll try another outlet, just for shits and giggles.  I hope that's it.
