I was watching The One with Jet Li on TV yesterday, and they said something about originally, they wanted The Rock for Jet Li's role. That would have been a completely different movie.

I posted in a random TF thread that I was going to put on a production of Waiting for Godot starring Lou Ferrigno as Vladimir and Bob Goldthwait as Estragon. Danny DeVito will play Lucky, and Jerry Van Dyke as Pozzo.

Because I'm bored, pick a movie, play, TV show, or whatever. Who would you select for the cast?
Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.

Listener

The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter novels.

Anita Blake:  Rose McGowan (although she's getting a little old to play the part)
Goran Visnjic:  Jean-Claude
Dakota Fanning:  Nikolaos (the bad guy in the first book)

I have a whole list at home but I forget who they all are.

Of course, it'd be Laurell Hamilton's first novel-to-movie experience, so they'd probably put in crappy teenage flavors of the week.

Dry then Catch

i would go with a 2024 aluminium alloy at .9 Tm, then add a bit of Cr-coated stainless.  quench and then hot roll.  anneal the cracks and lay out in ingots for shipment.

har har im so funny

Beefy

In The Beefy Movie, Morena Baccarin would play my right hand.

Stop underlining and making me think I have a clicky.

KILL THE MOCKINGBIRD (To Kill a Mockingbird)

CAST

Atticus "Ace" Finch (Tom Cruise) - A gritty street-wise cop who shoots first and asks questions later. Behind his gruff exterior, however, is a loving father that is trying to raise to children by himself. He still blames himself for the brutal murder of his wife.

Calpurnia (Halle Berry) - Atticus's longtime partner. She has been bought off by the powerful Robert Ewell and passes information on to him.

Tom Robinson (Morgan Freeman) - The no-nonsense chief of police. Risks his life and his reputation trying to bring down Robert Ewell.

Arthur Radley (Rick Moranis) - A nervous, excitabable account. He witnesses the murder of May.

Robert Ewell
(Gary Busey) - The sleazy mayor of Chicago, half the city is in his pocket and the other half is on his hit list. He seems to have a connection to the rash of murders across the city.

May - A murdered prostitute with a shady past

PLOT

As the election season is upon the city, Atticus begins investigating the murder of May. It seems like just another dead hooker, until the cautious Arthur Radley approaches him, claiming to know who committed the murder. Atticus gets in over his head as he tries to discover the identity of the murderer and what his connection is to Robert Ewell. The films climaxes with a dramatic car chase where Calpurnia betrays Atticus and the truth about Arthur Radley is revealed.

BUDGET

The budget would be astronomical. The final carchase alone will result in the destruction of over a thousand automoblies, and Gary Busey don't come cheap.

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

The 3/4ths complete Zombie novel I wrote.  The main role was always David Thewlis when I thought about it.  Thewlis is a hell of an actor..

Tin Man: Alfonso Ribero
Scarecrow: Patrick Stewart
Cowardly Lion: Sandra Bernhardt

Eddie Izzard is teh_awesome.

Although when he's cross-dressing he does look more than a little like a creepy old aunt.  Still, you can ignore that because he's so funny.

I think I'd do a production of The Fantasticks.

El Gallo: Christopher Meloni (hey, Orbach did it first)
Matt: Al Pacino
Luisa: Julia Roberts
Matt's dad: Paul Newman
Luisa's dad: Morgan Freeman (what?  WHAT?  Racists.)
Mute: Chris Tucker
Henry: Kevin Kline
Mortimer: Lou Diamond Phillips

Okay, most of that's a joke.  Though I'd like to see Meloni try (can he sing?), and I think Kevin Kline would be perfect for Henry.
