I totally loved her song Fast Car.  It was one of my absolute favorites from the 80s.  It had such a raw, earthy feel, like you could really imagine yourself as someone coming up from a shitty place and trying to carve out just a tiny little scrap of life for yourself and how that scrap would mean everything.
